Just a reminder to join me in praying for all those who are being affected by the Affordable Care Act. That includes people all over our country and in various scenarios and roles including employees, business owners and their families. May God’s grace be near us all and may God’s wisdom be upon our leaders. Two conversations this morning struck me as perfect examples of our need to pray. One is a long time worker for a firm in Detroit who after 20 years will lose his job as his company has made a decision to downsize the workforce in order to compensate for the cost of escalating health insurance premiums. God bless him and his family and Lord raise up a job for him. The second was with a state legislator from a state who has chosen NOT to opt into the plan and is feeling the heat from parts her constituency for her stance on the issue and that state’s decision. As we pray and plan to be really helpful to our fellow members of mankind I remember Wesley’s 3 Simple Rules: Do no harm, Do all the good you can, and Stay in love with God. So, thank you Lord that in these days, we are keenly aware of our need for you and we thank you for your promise to never leave us or forsake us, and your promise to meet all our needs. God bless the USA.
