That’s an incredible image, isn’t it? Ussuri Beach which was once an atrocious dumping ground for discarded glass bottles is now a beautiful restored tourist attraction. How? Well that is an amazing story of God healing the broken.
I suspect that the local Russians somehow declare the miraculous healing power of God as they have seen with their own eyes how years of pounding Pacific waves have taken what appears to be millions of bottles and broken them into shards, then polished them into a brilliant array of smooth colored stones. The amazing thing about God is His heart to transform humans into God’s own image and restore the beauty of a very fallen creation. God intends healing for the broken.
That image and story gives me hope. Hope for the hurting, hope for those who are refugees, hope for those lost in their religious myopia, and even hope for you and me. Today in the midst of problems, issues, and circumstances on every side, please join me as we choose to rest like the Psalmist in a God who cares and a God who is able. Psalm 19:1, The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Healing the broken is God’s passage.
