The greatest piece of news in history came almost 2000 years ago this week. The angel at the tomb told the women, He is not here; He is risen! (Matthew 28:6; Mk 16:6, Luke 24:6).
Jesus came to bring life to all who believed in Him. His resurrection is a promise and a provision. We rejoice and celebrate that the message of His resurrection was inseparable from ours. The Apostle Paul affirmed that Jesus’ victory over death is our victory, too, in 1 Corinthians 15:23; Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
The angel at the tomb continued with an instruction, Go quickly and tell His disciples. It was important that others know the message of Christ’s resurrection message.
This weekend is a great time to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with your friends and loved ones, too. There is simply no better place to celebrate the passion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior than right here at Mount Pisgah.
As part of our Good Friday service starting at 7:30pm, you don’t want to miss the Music and Worship team’s dramatic presentation Portraits of the Passion. And on Easter Sunday morning we join with others in our community who have found the immense joy of following Christ as we celebrate and proclaim that Christ is risen – He is risen indeed! Service times are; 6:33 (Sunrise service), 9:30, and 11:15am. (Note: if it is raining the Sunrise service will be held in the Underground).
This Sunday I can’t wait to personally meet those whom you have invited to come and experience the difference Jesus makes as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection together.
Christ is risen, indeed!
