I was blessed today to be with a group of pastors who took time to share life. These guys have been together for years pastoring churches and navigating life. It is an easy group to love and I really appreciate their honesty and vulnerability. Because this group is comprised of people who pastor some of the largest churches in America and they all experience dynamics of loneliness and isolation. It’s not that any of us desire loneliness and isolation. It’s just that so few really understand what it’s like.
The good news is that Christ understands and as we continue to strive in this journey. we discover our lives in Christ and so much more. Our value to God is immense, our value to one another is immeasurable, and our joy is that we are finding our life in Christ.
I suspect that what we shared today in terms of the struggle to continue to find our life in Christ would resonate with you. No matter our calling or career, the dynamics are really the same. Circumstances drive us away from God and from others. That is not how God has intended things to be. Today, we found we were being driven into the arms of God and what a relief it is to know that sanctuary.
My prayer for you is that you continue the journey to find your life in God and don’t run away from God and friends, but run towards them. For in them, there is grace and freedom in Christ!
