How well do you know God? Interesting question, eh? The God of all creation who formed us in the womb and set the moon and stars in place created us for relationship for His glory.
I would think that we would do well to invest ourselves in this relationship and get to know God since it is His greatest desire to spend eternity with us in a loving relationship.
The Apostle Paul had a hunger to know God more rather than just know more about God. Paul wrote in Philippians 3:10, “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” Wow! That is some passion to know God more. We know God more as we spend time with God.
Time with God in prayer and in the Word allows us to experience Him as He really is through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. This is what God yearns for, our time and love invested with Him in a journey of grace, glory, and truth.
And the more time we invest with God, the more we learn and value this relationship as we discover who God is with real perspective. God desires to be the one and only, not one of many. God created us, we did not create God or script Him into our life. And finally we belong to Him. For those of us who are in Christ, our life is not simply our own.
The best news of all? God is with us and has cleared His calendar to meet with us at our convenience. What an invitation and opportunity is ours to seize and live in all of the joy that God intends in this unique relationship!
