The promises of God are simply amazing! I recently spent a week with my teenage daughter on an adventure of facing our fears in Northern California. High ropes, low ropes, Odyssey, Alpine tower, white water rafting and countless other challenges gave us the opportunity to grow to a new level of trust in God and one another as we faced our fears.
The best part of the week was not the adventure, though every challenge was awesome. The best part of the week was being with God and my daughter and celebrating the life, grace, and courage that God gives to help us understand our need to be dependent upon Him. Christ died for us, Christ is with us, and Christ is fully present in all of our days including those with circumstances so trying that they threaten to defeat us.
So, what are you afraid of? Are you brave enough to take a few moments and really consider that question, then verbally name your fear(s) as an act of confession to God? I encourage you to do so for that is the gateway to victory and freedom. To live above and beyond the obstacles and fears in life is what God calls us to and there is only one totally successful method to do that. Trust Jesus to be Lord of all, then give access to the Holy Spirit to direct your life to God’s glory. The result? You will not only grow in your relationship with God and your dependence on God, you will eventually reach a place where you come to realize that you have no reason to fear anything or anyone. Hear the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, “Christ has overcome the world!” And in answering and embracing God’s call to the Lordship of Christ, we begin to live in the freedom of being an overcomer in and through Him!
