Yesterday I sat next to a guy in Sunday worship that I have been praying for over 27 years, but have only known for 5 years. He is not just any guy, he is my son-in-law and I like him.
Let me explain. One of the things that the Lord impressed upon me when we begin our family was my need to pray God’s will and purpose over our children. I have prayed for all of them daily since the moment we discovered that they were alive and growing in their mommy’s tummy. My wife has joined me in praying for them daily.
It has been amazing to see how God has worked and when I have seen these children come into the world I cannot express the overwhelming gratitude I have felt for a God who has shaped, formed and delivered these precious children into the world. They are growing and some are fully grown. They have been covered in prayer and are walking with the Lord in a beautiful way. They are as beautiful as adults as they were newborns!
Back to my son in law whom I love and respect. One of the prayer focus points for me has been to ask God to raise up a Godly spouse for our children and that they would be blessed with children who would be Godly offspring, raised and instructed in the Lord to be disciples of Jesus Christ.
Pray over your children. It’s never too late to stand in the gap for them and ask God to lead, guide and direct them in God’s path. Proverbs 22:6 is not just a Scripture, but a promise, “Train up a child in the way of the Lord and when they grow old they will not depart from it.”
